Paint the Town 2022

Painting for day one of Paint the Town ‘Mist on the Marsh’

On August 13th and 14th this year I was thrilled to take part in the 27th annual ‘Paint the Town’ Festival in Annapolis Royal, Nova Scotia where I live. Forty-nine artists from all over Nova Scotia converged on the town to take part in this plein air inspired event. Some worked from their home studios (myself included). We all chose various vantage points throughout the community and surrounding countryside to produce at least one work each day of the 2-day event. The works were then delivered to ArtsPlace Gallery to be included in an online auction which will take place September 24th to October 8th.

Painting for day two ‘Arbor in the Rose Garden’

“Paint the Town” celebrates the creativity of local artists, and it also raises important funds that ARTSPLACE uses to present exhibitions and programs year-round. Besides the two paintings submitted for the auction, each artist was also invited to submit one other piece produced over the weekend, plus a studio piece. These will all be installed in the ArtsPlace main gallery and available for purchase.
